Talented daughter?

I came down to the living room where Aida and Adam was hunched over a book of animals with the tame printed below each animal.
Approaching them I heard:

D-O-G dog

C-O-W cow

And I was thinking, wow she can already read.

Then came.
C-A-L-F donkey.

So she now the letters and can get them right, but for the full word she didn't read she looked at the picture and I must admit it was quite a big eared donkey looking calf.
