Similar fortunes for Sweden and China yesterday.
Both our big hopes crashed out of the short hurdles.
From Chinese paper:
“Nightmare for China as Liu Xiang quits heat.”
I can report that the papers in Sweden is not happy about loosing one of our biggest gold medal hopes. But a nightmare, nope.
Though if you put it in perspective, it is a much greater night mare for Sweden than China.
We might have 5 possibilities of actually getting a gold and some of them already failed.
China has already got 39 golds and got quite some chances left as well. What difference does one injured hurdles runner do in that perspective.
So I don’t feel any sympathy with the Chinese people what so ever, but a great deal for Liu Xiang and Susanna Kallur.
